Only You Will Live Your Future.

Come write with us at Shippensburg University, recently ranked as one of the top ten writing programs in the nation using data from the Department of Education.

Here you can contribute to Write the Shipa publication of academic student work, or help edit The Reflector, our school's literary journal.  (Follow the links to the most recent WiS and an archive of Reflctors!) You can take part in a poetry slam, or attend readings by guest authors like Pulitzer-Prize winner Adam Johnson or the poet Nikki Giovanni, a national treasure.

Our hybrid English degree in Professional & Creative Writing allows you to study the classics of literature, learn skills highly valued in today's marketplace, and hone your artistic eye. In small classes you'll work alongside writers like Kim van Alkemade, a New York Times bestseller, and Nicole Santalucia, who recently was selected to have her work appear in the anthology Best American Poetry.

We also offer two other excellent options in English degrees with a BA in Literary Studies as well as a BA in Secondary English Education.
