Dynamic Faculty
The professors waiting for you at Ship are passionate about reading, writing, and teaching. We believe that language has the power to change the world and we believe in our students.
While we love being in the classroom, we're also actively contributing to the conversation, publishing books and articles, presenting at conferences, and leading in our fields. All the covers you see here come from books penned by Ship English professors.
Ship English professors are doing provocative research on an array of topics from the gaming theory, to the intersection of sport and culture in the 18th century, to the depiction of female saints in medieval times. They are exploring African-American poetry, disability studies, looking at queer representation, and studying Latinx literature. The creative writing faculty alone have published over a dozen books.
At Ship, you’ll study the classics and also take courses in creative and technical writing, young adult literature, even graphic novels and film. Your upper-level seminars will be small and personal, guaranteeing one-on-one attention. We can't wait to work with you.
